How do you leave a bequest to CJCS?
It is extremely easy to remember CJCS in your Will. Your options include:
- Leaving a specific sum: this means you can determine the exact sum of money that you want to bequest to CJCS.
- Leaving a percentage of your estate: this involves you setting aside a percentage of your estate, rather than a specific sum of money, for CJCS.
- Leaving the residue of your estate: once all other gifts and costs have been taken into account, you may prefer to allocate the remainder of your estate to CJCS. This may be the easiest option, as it does not depend on a fixed sum being available.
Wording for your Will
To include CJCS in your Will, we recommend you insert the following wording:
“I give, devise and bequeath [the sum of $(insert amount)] / [(insert percentage) per cent of my estate] / [the residue of my estate] to the Council for Jewish Community Security ABN 74 648 725 842 (“CSG”) of 306 Hawthorn Road, Caulfield South, Victoria 3162 for [its general purposes] / [(insert specific project)], free of all duties, and I direct that the receipt of the treasurer, secretary or other proper office for the time being of CSG will be a full and sufficient discharge to my trustee[s].”
